CELI is seeking a volunteer to assist with fundraising activities. Check out our website, www.celiinc.org, Click on the "Get Involved" page to see ways you can help as a group or individual. Fund Developers seek funding and write proposals, build funder relationships, develope grant program budgets, submit and follow up on applications. This position in on a volunteer basis. It is best that this person lives in the Sacramento area and is familiar with fund development but may need hands on experience. We would consider a college student seeking to do this type of work after graduation.
We are also seeking board members that have a passion for seeing people succeed and supporting the organization's goals. We meet quarterly and sometimes via conference call. Board members are expected to attend the meetings and participate in fundraising activities, including ticket sales, telephone calls to thank supporters, attending some grantors meetings on behalf of the organization and work closely with the executive director.
We are asking for a one year commitment for both of these endeavors.

About Pivot Sacramento

Mission Statement
Our mission is to increase achievement levels in low income, at-risk youth and adults by improving their economic status and encouraging contribution to the regional economy. We accomplish this by providing personal and career mentoring, GED preparation, and logistical supports that help launch individuals into a career and/or post-secondary education. Our vision is to provide the highest quality programs and leadership opportunities to strengthen self-advocacy, instill self-worth, and engender a lifelong value of learning. This way, we believe we can introduce productive and responsible members to society at large.
Description
The disconnected youth and adults we serve would otherwise spend much of their adult lives in poverty, unemployed or marginally employed. Our organization focuses on reducing the economic disparities and targets "disconnected" youth and adults by providing JOB PREPAREDNESS/READINESS, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING and JOB COACHING free for youth and adults that live in Sacramento and surrounding areas and are at/high risk, low income and are chronically unemployed and/or receiving public assistance to ensure they are successfully employed. Ultimate success is self-sufficiency.
