Architecture Tour Docents lead private, public, and school group tours through the Center’s building designed by renowned Japanese architect Yoshio Taniguchi. These volunteers will share information about the building’s design features, the materials utilized in its construction, and the many cultural events and educational programs offered within.
Prospective Architecture Tour Docents do not have to be experts on architecture, but must enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with people, as well as being comfortable speaking in public to diverse audiences. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand your horizons, learn more about the world, and gain new skills.
Currently the minimum age to volunteer with the Asia Society Texas Center is 18 years of age. All volunteers must attend the volunteer orientation and complete all training associated with the Architecture Tour Docent Volunteer assignment.
Applications are available online or by mail. Contact the Volunteer & Intern Manager for an application or further information.
Volunteer service hours for this opportunity cannot be used toward court-ordered community service for probation purposes.
