The Pennysylvania Senior Medicare Patrol (PA-SMP) at CARIE is dedicated to preventing fraud and abuse in Medicare. We are currently looking for retired volunteers to teach their peers how to recognize Medicare fraud, how to protect themselves, and how to report it. Volunteers present fraud prevention information to senior groups, clubs, and community organizations, and provide information at health fairs and senior expos.
A six month committment is requested, but volunteers set their own schedule-there are no minimum or maximum number of hours required.
The PA-SMP at CARIE provides all training and support.

What began as a telephone hotline for the frail elderly has emerged as one of the region's leading resources on elder care issues.
