Friends of the Library Book Sale
Fall Book Sale held in October of 2011.

The Kings County Library in partnership with the Friends of the Library is looking for a book loving, people pleasing, community minded person to volunteer as our Book Sale Coordinator.

If libraries are your favorite place, you’ll be able to hang out at the library all day, with the fulfillment of knowing that you are helping The Friends of the Library coordinate the Annual Book Sales to benefit the Kings County Library Summer Reading Program and Special Library Projects.

The Book Sales are a time honored community event that allows our public to step into new worlds through literature, reach their aspirations through books that teach and inspire, or discover new writers that entertain and enlighten.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with library staff, Friends of the Library, and other volunteers. The Coordinator will be required to work in all aspects of the Book Sale, including cashiering, receiving/sorting book donations, and event set-up, and sales assistance. We are looking for a person with exceptional customer service and communication skills.

  • All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation before beginning volunteering at the library

Volunteer orientations occur at Hanford Library in April & August.

Volunteer applications will be kept on file for six (6) months.
