Mission Statement

Our Mission
Reaching out to the Least, The Last and the Lost of our Community to Inspire Hope with Human Compassion and the Love of God.

Our Vision
As a team of clients, staff and supporters we will utilize the best technology and resources to move an increasing number of homeless individuals from isolation to inclusion as accountable and productive members of the community with human compassion and the love of God.

Through your generosity, we are able to meet the needs of poor, hungry and homeless people in South Florida.

Since our founding in 1922, the Miami Rescue Mission has continued to serve "the least, the last and the lost," and give them hope for a better life. Our doors are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide food, clothing and shelter, along with recovery programs and education for those who want to change their lives.

Description

Our Ministries

The Center for Men provides emergency services including nutritious meals, showers and a safe place to stay for the night. Transitional housing is also offered for those who need help in relocating in the community. Our Regeneration Program offers life-changing opportunities for men who suffer from life-controlling problems such as homelessness, chemical abuse or addiction, medical and mental issues, illiteracy, and lack of adequate job skills.

Community Activity CenterDedicated to Youth Development
The Community Activity Center is designed to meet the needs of Miami's youth. This new facility hosts a variety of programs, from basketball to study hall.

Center for Women & Children - Miami
The Center for Women & Children is a haven for homeless women and families, which provides emergency overnight shelter as well as a long-term recovery program.

Jeffrey A. Tew Education Center - Miami

Broward Outreach Center (BOC)Hollywood was one of the first emergency shelters offering a comprehensive recovery program for the homeless in South Broward County. Clients are taught life skills, which help them to develop goals for going back into the community as productive citizens.

MRM is also managing the Broward County North Homeless Assistance Center in Pompano Beach. The 200-bed facility operates a short-term (eight weeks) program adapted from the BOC Hollywood's successful eight month program.
