Join us in Dimond Park and Dimond Canyon Park as we restore eroding slopes and native habitat.
Meet at the scout hut (small building by the newly daylighted creek and Lions Pool) at 8:45 a.m.: http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/scout_hut.pdf
Please wear long sleeves, pants, and sturdy shoes. All need a signed waiver to participate (http://www.sausalcreek.org/pdf/FOSC-Waiver.pdf), and anyone under 18 also needs a parental signature on both forms. The Friends recognize that citizen participation, from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students, is critical for building long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.
Description
Friends of Sausal Creek is a volunteer-based, nonprofit, community organization dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of Oakland’s Sausal Creek Watershed, which drains to the San Francisco Bay. Formed in 1996, the Friends recognize that citizen participation-from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students-is critical for building a long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.
