About Caring For Friends

Location:

12271 Townsend Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154, US

Mission Statement

Caring for Friends' (formerly known as Aid For Friends) mission is to provide free meals and friendly visiting for frail elderly and disabled homebound persons and provide food for needy families and the homeless in the 5 county Greater Philadelphia area. The goal is to help our homebound "client/friends" maintain their cherished independence by supporting their determination to remain in their own homes for as long as possible and to enhance their quality of life.

Description

Caring For Friends is a charitable non-profit organization that provides seven FREE home-cooked dinners weekly, friendly visiting and supplemental outreach services to 1,500 isolated, needy shut-ins, primarily the frail elderly, in the five-county Greater Philadelphia area. We provide food to hundreds of needy people by supplying 130 area food cupboards and pantries with food. We distributed more than 10,000 pound of food every week.
