The Community Activities Coordinator is a key volunteer who is willing to be responsible for organizing events in the community for Soldiers’ Angels to support veterans and service members. This includes regularly scheduled events, as well as special events, as approved by the Community Representative. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for organizing events for Soldiers’ Angels in support of the community as well as oversight of Angels’ participation in community events. Events may include but are not limited to 5k runs, holiday parties, luncheons/dinners for service members or veterans, attendance at family day events, etc. Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work events on occasional evenings and weekends. Assist Community Representative and the Site Coordinator to solicit donors to sponsor events, as well as coordinate with the community representatives. Oversight of all Community Activities Volunteers. Responsible for making sure that all community activity and event volunteers are aware of policies and procedures to ensure a consistent quality of service, and to set clear expectations of each volunteer. Maintain positive Social Media presence during events to include posting pictures and captions as they happen. Each month, Soldiers' Angels hosts a luncheon for the Veterans in our community! Come out to the Lake Nona VA or Lake Baldwin VA Domiciliary for veterans the third Wednesday of each month (with the occasional alternate date) to help us set up lunches from local restaurants and serve them to our Veterans! Join us in bringing joy to our Veterans by volunteering to pick up, drop off, and support these monthly activities. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. We are looking for a volunteer Outreach Coordinator to help us reach out to community leaders to find volunteers, donors, and opportunities to engage organizations and businesses on behalf of Soldiers’ Angels! Details of the position: 5-10 hours of volunteer work per week Can be done remotely or in person to support Orlando Area Veterans Assist in coordinating volunteers to attend various outreach events Work with local volunteers to attend events Provide outreach to potential clients Develop relationships with local businesses and colleges who have volunteer pools Conduct and coordinate speaking engagements One of the biggest areas of need the Out Reach Coordinator can assist with is in finding restaurant donations and building relationships locally. In addition, the Out Reach Coordinator would be asked to conduct and coordinate speaking engagements to businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations about Soldiers’ Angels’ mission and support opportunities. Soldiers’ Angels, a national non-profit that is committed to supporting our military communities, is looking for a Mobile Food Distribution Assistant Coordinator for our monthly giving of groceries to at-need veterans in the Orlando area. The Mobile Food Distribution Assistant Coordinator is a regular volunteer who is willing to assist with organizing and overseeing all operations for the monthly mobile food distribution at the designated site. This position requires a person with leadership, operations and event planning skills to ensure all aspects of each food distribution is executed flawlessly. The volunteer would be responsible for assisting and overseeing all volunteers who are supporting each monthly mobile food distribution. The Assistant Coordinator would assist with registration, waitlist and volunteer registration forms for each event.
