Reports To: Education Council Chairperson
The Education Community Schooling Committee is tasked with developing a plan, securing Lee District Schools' buy-in, community support, and implementing a Community School Program capability in one of the Estero Area Elementary or Middle schools.
The Committee assists in helping to ensure quality educational support and programs will contribute to a broader and enhanced learning experience for children being schooled in the greater Estero area. This approach will enhance the desirability of our location as a destination where people want to live, conduct business and educate their children.
Responsibilities of the Education Community Schooling Committee Chairperson:
- Form a committee and recruit committee members:
- Where possible, include representatives from:
- Junior Achievement
- Lee County Schools
- FGCU
- Area Businesses
- Estero Chamber of Commerce
- Lee Health
- Lee County Parks and Rec
- Lee County Library
- Blue Zones
- Area Religious institutions
- Hold meetings (in person or on Zoom) as required
- Maintain and update an ECCL web presence
- Report at monthly Education Council meetings as requested
- Communicate activities
- Brief at monthly members meetings as requested
- Compose articles for:
- Publishing in local and community newsletters and via ECCL Newsletters and email blasts
- ECCL Web page
- Submit activities and events for publishing on the ECCL web page
- Recruit guest speakers for Education Council and members meeting
- Monitor Developments and Progress
- Coordination Understands its role concerning the other ECCL entities and the ECCL's mission on ECCL issues

- Safety
- Community & Economic Development
- Culture and Recreation
- Decision Maker: Formulates and guides courses of action
- Leads by consensus: Oversee the implementation of goals plans and strategies. Serves as the internal leader of the Committee:
- Leads the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the Education Committee
- Provides for members a strong leadership presence and supports an open-door policy among members
- Participates in strategic planning processes
- Participates in implementing strategic plans
- Cultivates excellent relationships with the Estero Village leadership and educational communities
- Collaborate with the Village of Estero, local, state, national organizations, and other education organizations to maintain and improve the quality of life in Estero
- Where possible, include representatives from:
