Do you love to knit, crochet, or sew? Do you love making blankets?
If so, support our organization by making blankets for patients! Blankets are the ultimate homemade gift for our patients. Many of our patients are wheelchair or bed bound, and these blankets help keep them cozy and warm.
All blanket sizes are welcome, but 35" by 40" is preferred.
Although all colors are welcome, we are always in need of red, white, and blue blankets for our Veteran patients. We provide a bedside honoring ceremony for Veterans to thank them for their service. During this ceremony, we present them with a certificate, pin, and blanket.
Another blanket option are Sensory Mats or Fidget Blankets for our dementia patients. These special blankets provide a soothing and stimulating activity for people living with dementia or recovering from strokes.
Blankets can be dropped off or shipped to our Westmont office. We are open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. We are located at 1010 Executive Dr. Suite 200 Westmont, IL 60559.

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to improve your health and well-being.
Description
Heartland Hospice volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. Some interact directly with patients and families. Others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer, you help determine which tasks you’re best suited to perform. The tasks of volunteers include:
- Helping with office support tasks at the agency
- Running errands for patients and families
- Staying with patients so family members can get a much-needed rest
- Reading, or providing a comforting touch
- Playing or singing soothing music to patients
- Keeping vigil with patients in their final hours
These and other tasks are why hospice volunteers are such an essential part of the Heartland experience.
