Baby2Baby provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. Over the past 10 years, Baby2Baby has distributed over 200 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools as well as to children across the country who have lost everything in the wake of disasters.
Children living in poverty are the most vulnerable in any crisis, and COVID-19 is no exception. The families that Baby2Baby serves were struggling to make ends meet before the crisis, and now they are struggling even more due to months of lost income, millions of lost jobs and increased lack of access to these critical items. Since the COVID-19 crisis began in March of 2020, Baby2Baby has distributed 150 million items to over 1 million children across the country and are on track to reach one million more this year. We need volunteers more than ever to help us meet the need that is growing every day, and we are able to provide opportunities for you or your group to give back safely to the children who need it most.
Volunteer at Baby2Baby's headquarters for in-person and outdoor volunteer sessions for individuals and groups of 20 people or less. These sessions are two hours long and provide our generous volunteers the opportunity to prepare and assemble basic essentials to send to the children and families being hit the hardest by the pandemic in Los Angeles and across the country.
Please note the updates to our COVID-19 protocols for all Baby2Baby in-person volunteer sessions per the guidance of the CDC, LA Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA:
- All volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated and boosters are required for anyone eligible. Proof of vaccination is required upon arrival.
- All volunteers will remain masked with a KN95 or surgical grade mask throughout the volunteer session.
- Sessions will take place in a large warehouse space that is not fully enclosed.
Age Requirements:
-Minimum age requirement is 7.
-Volunteers ages 7 to 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
-Volunteers ages 13 to 17 must have our waiver signed by parent or guardian.
Accessibility: Our sites are accessible for all assistive mobility devices. Hablamos Español (Spanish speakers available if needed).
Additional Information: We recommend you dress for the weather because all sessions are outdoors (i.e. sunscreen, hat, jacket, etc.). Activewear and closed-toe shoes are preferred - our volunteer projects involves a lot of moving so we want you to be comfortable! We also encourage you to bring a filled reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
