Volunteer with Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites to help us celebrate a historic holiday season!
While the holidays may look different in "Christmas City, USA" this year, we have the opportunity to deliver new activities as part of a safe, engaging outdoor experience. Our Historic Holidays offerings combine the traditional with the new and exciting, providing fun for the whole family this season.
*New this year* - Visitors will be able to enjoy a number of family-friendly outdoor activities in Bethlehem's historic Colonial Industrial Quarter including pop-up shopping, live music, children's activities, a winter art exhibition, Colonial Blacksmith demonstrations, and more!
Our holiday activities directly support the care of 20 nationally recognized historic sites in Bethlehem and allow us to provide programs and special events throughout the year.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Visitor Center Greeter - greet visitors at the Historic Bethlehem Visitor Center, answer visitor questions, assist staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the Visitor Center, help restock merchandise in the store, and more.
- Family Activities & Crafts Volunteer - Help with a variety of family activities and crafts. Share the Christmas fun with all ages!
- Christmas in the Quarter Store Assistant - Volunteers will assist staff in the store space within Bethlehem's historic Colonial Industrial Quarter.
- Christmas in the Quarter Greeter/Gallery Watcher - Welcome visitors to the Colonial Industrial Quarter or sign up to be a gallery watcher for the Lehigh Art Alliance Exhibition in the Luckenbach Mill.
- Christmas Cottage Attendant - Help maintain a clean and welcoming space for families to relax from a long day of shopping and site-seeing in a private heated Christmas Cottage.
- Parking Attendant - Volunteers are needed to monitor the parking area for the Colonial Industrial Quarter and help direct visitors.
High school volunteers are welcome! Volunteers under 18 must have their parent/guardian complete the Junior Volunteer form.

See history come to life at vibrant Colonial Industrial Quarter with blacksmiths-at-work, bucolic Burnside Plantation with award-winning gardens and farmhouse, peaceful Moravian Museum, imaginative Kemerer Museum with intricate decorative arts and dollhouses, and cheery Welcome Center and Goundie House on Main Street. We are a Smithsonian Affiliate and invite you to join us in preserving our unique local history!
