ORGANIZATION: Heart of Compassion Distribution



Quick Overview: Mondays 9-11a.m.: Volunteers are needed to bag produce (fruits and vegetables), so the bags can be ready for our public food distribution events.

Impact: Heart of Compassion is dedicated to being a lighthouse of hope and help for Montebello and our local communities. We rely on our valuable volunteers to help us achieve our mission of Fighting Hunger and Feeding Hope. We currently provide loads of groceries for more than 400 families weekly at our public food distributions.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: Volunteers are responsible for safely handling food products, such as fruits and vegetables, as they bag and prepare it for our public distributions. Volunteers are responsible for following their team leader's directions and having a good attitude.

Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 yrs old to work in our warehouse. Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes for working in the warehouse, wear modest clothing, wear a mask and gloves (gloves are provided if needed), allow staff to check their temperature upon arrival, check in and out with the office every day they volunteer, be willing to stand for long periods of time, and let the office know if they cannot attend their scheduled shift.
