JAIA is seeking an experienced grant writer who can help us grow in our work and reach by helping JAIA increase the funding we receive. The grant writer will take time to learn more about JAIA’s programs, goals and financial needs. The grant writer will research, prepare, compose and send in grant proposals. The grant writer will look into potential and diverse funding sources, and keep careful records to track proposals, requirements, and outcomes. The grant writer will assist in planning fund-raising campaigns and promoting JAIA through public relations work as needed.
Skills Needed
Outstanding grammar and research skills. Previous and proven successful record of grant writing for other nonprofit agencies. Creative and thorough in writing and research.
Preferred skills: a Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, writing or a similar major. Previous experience working in an organization similar to JAIA and having successful results.

JAIA (Just As I AM) YOUth Empowerment is a personal development and leadership program for teens and young adults ages 16-21. We are a violence prevention program that empowers youth to build healthier communities by promoting mindfulness, mental health, and moral/ethical development.
