Volunteer Coordinator - Celebrate Birthdays Program

We just launched our new program, Celebrate Birthdays! Birthdays are uniquely the only "holiday" of the year that is JUST FOR YOU! Let's work together to make sure each child has the opportunity to feel celebrated and special on their birthday!

With the support of our community and local businesses, we will offer several options to support foster children on their special day, including:
-activity tickets/passes to local venues where you might typically bring a child to celebrate
-"birthday party in a box" packages available to check-out with themed, reusable, ready to go party decor
-cake/cupcake vouchers to a variety of local bakeries

Supporting foster children in this way reinforces a sense of value and self-worth on their special day, while supporting the existing relationship between the foster child and foster parents.

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Coordinator, who will support this launch by:
-Advertising & recruiting for new volunteer positions, as given by the Board of Directors
-Screening & training new volunteers
-Following up with volunteers regularly for progress updates and ongoing training
-Becoming a point of contact for volunteers, for ongoing oversight and direction

This volunteer opportunity schedule is flexible. Most of the process can be completed remotely, via phone and internet. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

The Volunteer Coordinator must have:
-Phone
-Excellent phone communication skills
-Computer with internet access
-Tech-savvy, familiar with Google docs and internet browsing
-Excellent written communication
-Excellent organization and management skills
-Familiarity with the nonprofit/community services sector
-Volunteer experience
