THANK YOU for your willingness to share your time and talents as a volunteer with greeNest!
We are open Tues - Fri 10am-4pm and every Saturday 9am - Noon
greeNest is a unique volunteer-driven small non-profit. Our volunteers contribute their time, ideas, muscle, vision and talents to evaluate, process and prepare the donated items and create a warm setting to welcome the clients greeNest serves.
greeNest accepts gently used furniture and household items from the community and works with case-managed programs in Forsyth County that are assisting families moving from homelessness into sustainable housing. For a nominal fee a family can choose furnishings for their new home. Providing choice is core to our business.
Whatever your passionyou can put it to good use helping our neighbors in need! The ONLY way greeNest works is through the generous efforts of its volunteers. Whether for several hours here and there or on a regular basis, there is ALWAYS a need for your help!
- Cleaning furniture as it comes into the warehouse.
- Creating our "Dining", "Bed", "Bath" and "Cooking" packs.
- Working with a family and their case manager as they shop for their furnishings.

Working together to transform the community one nest at a time.
Description
greeNest is a resource for other non-profit agencies in Forsyth County that are working with individuals and families through case managed programs. Our Partner Agency Case Manager work to find affordable, safe and sustainable housing. Once they help them find their new home, they bring them to greeNest to shop to furnish their new home. At greeNest, we take in gently used donations of all types of home furnishings, our volunteers sort, clean and organize the donations. We then display them in our show room so our participants can have a meaningful shopping experience.
