ORGANIZATION: Brooklyn Community Services

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Brooklyn Community Service is a social services organization that serves the Brooklyn community year around. BCS is one of the longest serving nonprofit providers in New York City. We have over 35 programs that focus on youth development, family services, mental health concerns, community engagement and more

Every holiday season BCS volunteers wrap gifts for the kids in our programs. Volunteers are invited to our gift wrapping parties to unwind and wrap some awesome gifts. When you arrive on December 11th 2018 ask for Amanda or Asea and we will get you squared away.

There are many opportunities to gift wrap this week!

Description

About Brooklyn Community Services (BCS)

Brooklyn Community Services (BCS), formerly the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service, was founded in 1866, based on our founders’ firm commitment to assist Brooklyn’s neediest and most disadvantaged citizens. Our first project was the Newsboys Home, a refuge for thousands of unschooled, impoverished and unwanted boys who lived by their wits on Brooklyn’s streets. Over the years, we have strengthened countless families at risk of separation; supported and stabilized people with psychiatric illnesses; helped adults with physical and developmental disabilities participate fully in the community; enabled people to move from welfare to work; and offered guidance, education and support to children.
