Mission Statement

Books to Kids is committed to: Making books available to ALL children. Helping children find joy in reading. Helping children connect with their favorite authors & illustrators. Everything we do is to promote and enrich children's literacy.

Founded in July 2018, Books to Kids serves children, ages 0 to 12 years, in the Denver Metro area and environs.

Our 2019-2020 goals include hosting the Children's Festival of Stories in April 2020 as well as donating FREE, NEW books to 3rd graders throughout the Denver Metro area. The festival is a day-long FREE event that will feature national, regional and local children's book authors & illustrators of board books, picture books, chapter books & middle grade novels. Our featured presenters offer book signings, panel discussions as well as meet-and-greet sessions with children and their families, educators, librarians.

An additional goal is to raise $20,000 to fund the 2020 Children's Festival of Stories. The very successful 2018 premiere of this FREE event was a collaborative creation between Second Star to the Right Children's Books (NW Denver) and the Denver Arts & Venues Cultural Program In 2019, we were deeply gratified to see youngsters, once again, have an opportunity to visit with children's book authors & illustrators. The Children's Festival of Stories will celebrate a 3rd year in April 2020.
