Summary

The Fundraising Manager needs excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Extensive experience in researching and devising strategies and opportunistically taking advantage of fundraising possibilities. The position must be adept at people management, building long-term relationships with potential donors or volunteers and persuasively explaining School Group's vision and mission. The ability to manage budgets and hit fundraising targets are important, as are organizational and strategic development skills. An interest in, and commitment to, global eLearning education is essential. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and increasing grant funding that builds on the strengths and vision of our organization. T

The Fundraising Manager is responsible for all aspects of the grant management process. Key elements of the role include development of grant proposals,strategic planning, budget strategy, development of support materials, and working to secure monetary funds for School Group. They will increase awareness about our organization’s work, goals, and financial needs internally and externally. The position is also responsible for managing the Fundraising and Grant Coordinators with the workflow and effectiveness of the funding procurement process (private foundation, corporate, and select government grants), including: prospect research, strategic planning and goal setting, timeline management, proposal and materials development, funder cultivation, report development, and donor acknowledgement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships with existing supporters and stakeholders.
  • Research and approach trusts, government agencies, and other bodies that could potentially provide grant funding.
  • Write, review, approve, and present proposals.
  • Manage the grant application process and campaign management while ensuring that reporting is tracked and meets donors' expectations.
  • Prepare annual income and expenditure fundraising budgets for approval.
  • Manage information, records, School Group profiles, and fundraising activity of donors on portals and nonprofit organization directories.
  • Submit timely and accurate grant reports (both narrative and data) on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Develop and implement best practices for meeting and exceeding high performance grant procurement targets.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all programs and strategic plans in order to advise on potential new funding opportunities.
  • Work with Fundraising and Finance teams to identify ongoing and potential projects suitable for grant funding.
  • Perform depth research on potential fundraising sources, grant making organizations, and donors at appropriate sources.

  • Maintain professional and cordial relation with Fundraising team.

  • Create and develop funding calendar activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Min. 3-4 years’ work experience in a NPO environment; familiarity with fundraising required
  • Develops and implements fundraising strategies and oversees fundraising programs.
  • Creates fundraising goals and solicits funds to meet these goals.
  • Identifies new donors and organizes initiatives to solicit funding.
  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Typically requires 5 years experience in fundraising. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
  • Possess essential knowledge of grant application process

  • Experience/interest in global education and or international development preferred.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills with a firm grasp on grammar, spelling, and syntax
  • Ability to meet deadlines, follow directions, and work independently
  • Be a self-motivated team member able to complete tasks with little supervision
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Extensive experience and successful track record with grant management
  • A minimum of 15 hours a week
