Gateway Green Festival 2017
Families enjoying the Gateway Green Gathering Festival in 2017

The Gateway Green Mountain Bike Festival and Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day is a kick off the summer bike riding season. It is also an opportunity to join in the celebration of NWTA’s thirtieth anniversary at our urban mountain biking festival! The Mountain Bike Festival combines the great riding at Gateway Green with food and beverage vendors, coaching, demo bikes, and this year’s edition of Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day. This year our event is presented by Islabikes, with support from Portland Design Works.

There’s plenty of singletrack, skills courses (one just for kids!), a pump track, and an advanced jump line to keep everyone - youth through adults - entertained all day long. And, while supplies last, kids receive a free Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day t-shirt!

In between rides, hang out with friends old and new, view plans for the park’s continuing evolution, and check out the cool things from Islabikes, Portland Design Works, Community Cycling Center, Bike Gallery, Lumberyard Bike Park, NICA’s Oregon League, Performance Bicycles, REI, River City Bicycles, Showers Pass, Trips for Kids, Velo Cult, and Western Bikeworks.

We are looking for volunteers to fill two and a half hour shifts throughout the day doing everything from helping set up / tear down, security, course patrol and more. Check out the volunteer needs below and drop me an email if you would love to come be part of Portland's first Mountain Bike Festival at Gateway Green; you can volunteer for one shift or multiple, we love your support however you can give it!
