Special Olympics North Carolina is seeking a responsible individual to serve as Fundraising Chair in the Mecklenburg County Area.

Minimum responsibilities:

  • Serve on the local steering committee to monitor current fundraising efforts and work with volunteer groups on potential future fundraising events and endeavors.
  • Attend a monthly local committee meeting for a time commitment of approximately 5-10 additional hours per month (the time is flexible).
  • Recruit, screen and train new members of the Fundraising Committee.
  • Ensure that an annual fundraising plan is developed, approved by the Finance Chair and Local Program Coordinator and implemented.

Additional potential responsibilities:

  • Come up with fun, new ideas to raise a maximum amount of money with a minimum amount of effort.
  • Solicit donations from local businesses and members of the community.
