Position Description:
Provide general administrative support for the Philanthropy Department by updating donor database records, managing mail merges and mailings, special events assistance, and maintaining departmental filing systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Generate and coordinate signing of letters, receipts and donor benefits.
- Assist with maintaining department filing systems.
- Special events assistance.
- Support staff with mailings, word processing and correspondence.
- Make phone calls to thank donors for financial contributions and invite constituents to events and volunteer activities.
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with or interest in learning fundraising software
- Ability to type 50 WPM
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and diplomacy skills
- A demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Internal and external customer service skills are essential for all job functions
Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 10 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms. Able to traverse a wide variety of physical environments without assistance including uneven surfaces and stairs. Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing; including those who have limited English skills, large groups and small groups and individuals. Able to use standard office equipment without assistance.
Working Environment/Conditions:
Office environment; moderate noise level.
Time Commitment:
Flexible weekday hours; minimum 3 to 6 month commitment preferred.
