Mission Statement
RSVP is nationwide, but is sponsored locally by Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey. Our mission is:
To provide quality volunteer opportunities for older adults through volunteer assignments that utilizes the talents, interests and experience of people 55 and older.
RSVP has the dual purposes of engaging people 55 and older in volunteer service to meet critical community needs and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of these volunteers. RSVP of Union County will focus its volunteer placement efforts in the areas of Healthy Futures, Education, Disaster Services, and Capacity Building.
Description
RSVP of Union County will work with partner agencies to offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities. When older adults enroll as an RSVP volunteer, our coordinator will help them find an assignment that matches their interests, skills, and availability. Our RSVP volunteers will serve as role models, mentors, and friends to others. Serving at one or more local agencies--including elementary schools, food pantries, senior centers, and other facilities- volunteers will help children learn how to read, provide companionship to frail elderly, and serve to promote disaster preparedness.
Volunteers are matched on the basis of interests, skills, community needs, geographic convenience and experience. We will try our best to find the perfect volunteer assignment that utilizes your lifetime of experience, skills and knowledge to make a difference in our community. There is something for everyone!
**All volunteer opporutnities will be within Union County, New Jersey**
