iMentor is fighting to rebalance the odds by giving every student a fair chance to graduate college and pursue their dreams.

iMentor partners with high schools in low-income communities, where a majority of students served will be the first in their families to attend college.

We match every student with a mentor, and equip our mentors with the resources to support their mentees on the path to college graduation.

Our mentors are college-educated volunteers who commit to working one-on-one with a student for a minimum of three years. Mentors will connect online with their student once a week and meet in-person once a month, using the iMentor curriculum to guide them.

TO GET STARTED: Your first step is to attend Mentor Orientation. Click the link below to see upcoming date:

Please note: all training and meetings are taking place virtually.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our volunteer team, at volunteer@imentor.org

About iMentor

199 Water Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10038, US

Mission Statement

iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions.

iMentor matches high school students (mentees) one-on-one with volunteer adult mentors based on shared career and personal interests. Matched in relationships ranging from three to four years in length, mentor-mentee pairs cultivate their relationship using a potent combination of weekly emails and monthly in-person meetings.

The iMentor program is changing the face of youth mentoring. iMentor proves that (1) even the busiest, most successful New Yorkers have time to be quality mentors and that (2) formal mentoring programs can flourish in NYC's most isolated, low-income, and underserved communities. iMentor uses mentoring to bridge the divide between New York Ciy's eclectic communities, creating unique and dynamic relationships that would not have been possible without the program. By exposing both mentors and mentees to new facets of their shared city, iMentor makes and facilitates meaningful connections, empowering youth with the skills and resources critical for personal, academic and career success.

Every student deserves a champion.
