4-H Camp

Play in the dirt, smell the flowers, and make a difference to Arlington youth!

4-H is looking for volunteers who would like to help elementary aged children explore and learn about the great outdoors. Partnering with Arlington County Public School's Extended Day, volunteers will assist staff to lead one-hour environmental education activities. Programs include searching for wildlife, investigating backyard habitats, scavenger hunts, and much more.

Sessions are held from approximately 4-5pm one day a week for six weeks. We are now recruiting volunteers for Spring 2020. We will begin sessions around mid/late September. Training is provided!

Volunteers should be over 16 years old and excited to work with young children, get dirty, and have fun. You must be able to provide your own transportation to the sites. Experience in environmental education is not required--we will train you! Volunteers will be required to undergo a background screening.

If you're interested, please contact 4-H Extension Agent Caitlin Verdu at cverdu@vt.edu for the volunteer application and additional information. We look forward to working with you!
