About

The Seattle Public Library is seeking Homework Helpers who have a passion for helping students learn and succeed in school. The 2017-2018 Homework Help service will be offered from Sept. 11, 2017 through June 14, 2018.

Homework Helpers coach K-12 students who are developing literacy and mathematics skills, working on homework assignments, and preparing for college. They provide help with all academic subjects and may specialize in college-prep subjects. Most of the students are first generation Americans who speak a language other than English at home. Volunteers must be comfortable assisting children and teens.

A volunteer commitment throughout the school year is requested. Volunteers provide Homework Help once a week when the public schools are in session. Go to www.spl.org/homeworkvolunteer for more information and to download/print an application.

Homework Help locations: Beacon Hill, Broadview, Columbia, Douglass-Truth, Greenwood, High Point, Lake City, NewHolly, Northgate, Rainier Beach and South Park branches.
