Through the VIRTUAL My Brothers Keeper mentoring program for Black and Hispanic middle and high school males via Skype or other online video platform. The virtual program will help underserved youth who have not been able to go to school to receive these services, have experienced learning loss in or do not have access to learn computer science, and who need support because they have been impacted more than other students during the COVID-19 health pandemic.
Mentors should meet virtually at least 1 hour a week in a 1 on 1 virtual meeting with a student or a group of students. In that meeting, you and the student may discuss any of the following topics:
- Career and college topics in developing tech skills as well as business skills. Life skills, perseverance, leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, and character development are also important mentoring topics.
- Business topics our students need are entrepreneurship and tech startup skills development.
- Some tech topics we hope mentors may also address with the students are cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, software engineering, and physical computing.
In addition, the financial contributions and donations you make to support this program and any help you can provide with fundraising efforts are appreciated. Your support makes our world a better place.

Mission Statement
Changing Expectations mission is to provide the highest impact computer coding programs to inspire Black and Hispanic youth to pursue computing careers. Our programs are designed to study and increase Black and Hispanic students’ interest, engagement, learning, knowledge, and intentions to persist in computer science education and careers, including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. We focus our work on reaching out to young people who might otherwise not have access to quality computer science education programs to close the opportunity gaps they face. Description
Changing Expectations Corp is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization committed to providing STEM and computer science teaching and learning opportunities to alleviate global talent shortages and advance the future STEM workforce by inspiring PK-12 students, especially those who are underrepresented in STEM and computer science, students of color-to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and computing related fields. Changing Expectations purpose is to provide the highest impact STEM programs such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, civil engineering (rain gardens), aerospace engineering, robotics, and computer coding programs to inspire youth of color and prepare them to pursue STEM and computing careers. We focus our work on reaching out to students who might otherwise not have access to quality STEM and computer science education programs.

- Mentors may pick one or more of these ways to connect: 1 hour per week, 1.5 hours on Saturdays, 2 hours on school holiday break & summer days, 2 hours on school days when the students are not in school due to the COVID-19 health pandemic.
- You may identify the length of time you can mentor students. We hope it will be at least one time every two weeks over a several month time period. You will be able to select either a 1:1 mentoring connection or meet with several students.
