Mission Statement

Cat Haven's mission is to lead the Greater Baton Rouge Area in becoming a no-kill community for cats and kittens by providing care, shelter, and adoption services, as well as advocating routine spaying and neutering for population control.

Description

Welcome to Cat Haven and thank you for your interest in helping the homeless cats and kittens in our community. As a non-profit organization, Cat Haven relies heavily on support from volunteers and the public. We could not continue our life-saving work without this help.

Cat Haven was founded in 1999 for the purpose of rescuing and placing cats and kittens into good homes. Since its inception, we have placed over 18,000 felines with loving families and individuals. All cats who are adopted through Cat Haven have been spay/neutered, tested for feline diseases, received age appropriate routine vaccinations, received flea prevention, have been dewormed, and have been micro-chipped.

Cats and kittens that come into our program are guaranteed a safe haven for life. If an adopter decides to subsequently surrender their Cat Haven pet at any time, that animal is automatically admitted back to our organization and efforts to find a new home are initiated.

As a Cat Haven volunteer, you will have the opportunity to touch the lives of thousands of homeless felines. Volunteer opportunities are diverse and range from fostering to shelter cleaning and the care of cats and kittens at Cat Haven Adoption Center.
