This is a great volunteer organization for students and retired folks. It is all about customer service, and helping people navigate Detroit Metro Airport. Fran Woods oversees the program, and is very courteous and professional.

Volunteered here for over a year. Be prepared for stiff rules, but overall a very enjoyable experience. The people you'll work with are the greatest. I recommend this for many reasons. A few that come to mind are: A younger person could gain work experience - particularly in working with the public. You learn a LOT about the airport. For us up in age, it's an opportunity to interface with both young and old. There is an orientation so you can decide if it's for you. If you do decide to accept then you're trained for a month or so (after a security screening).

It is our Homeland, we are so proud to help protect it, give a break to some people working hard, we can see the world in the different faces, languages, and give that world the perfect image about USA.
