In an effort to surround our patients and families with superior care and service, we make great effort to recruit and pursue volunteers that have a 'hopeful" heart. Our Hope Health Care family of Esteemed Volunteers start with "heart", then we add valuable experience and constant education so that they can deliver patient companionship that is highly compassionate, yet professional. Training Our Esteemed Volunteers are invaluable members of our hospice family; therefore, we provide free detailed training prior to meeting patients. Hope also provides on-going education, as well as volunteer support. Time We work around your schedule!! Our Esteemed Volunteers usually serve between 1 to 4 hours per week! But unfortunately some are unable to care for their appearance as often as they use too due to disability, maybe they are a caregiver or caring for someone at the end of their life. In this case a simple: haircut, shave, painted nails or a make up touch up can go a long way! A hairstylist has the ability to make powerful difference in making others feel good about themselves! Come make a powerful difference in the lives of others! Licensed hair stylist volunteer would assist with haircuts and styles for patients in their homes or at our inpatient units. Time Commitment is very flexible and based on your availability. We have patients located all over greater Dallas area. All ages over 16 are welcome! Those Who Can, Do - Those Who Can Do More, Volunteer Hope Health Care is looking for volunteers who would make home-sewn bears to help ease the loss after the death of a patient. The Memory Bears are sewn from the clothing of a patient (a favorite shirt, dress, uniform, etc.). The Memory Bears create a lasting keepsake and offer comfort to the family (such as a child who feels alone after the loss of a parent, grandparent or sibling). Time Commitment is very flexible and based on your availability. We have patients located all over greater Dallas area. Hope Health Care has an opportunity for you to continue to serve others but on your own time and in your way. Hope Health Care serves veterans who are on Hospice care. They need an ally who will assist them with completing their final mission in life. Hospice provides Medicare entitled services for the veteran to feel comfortable and free of pain. But that doesn’t mean these veterans are not full of life. The veterans we serve have amazing stories to share with those willing to listen. They can engage heartily and leave you feeling more grateful than you expected to feel when you arrived. If you want to help a veteran approach their final days with courage and dignity, please reach out to us today regarding this incredible opportunity. We are certain you will be glad you did. TRAINING Volunteers receive training free of charge as well as on-going education and support. TIME Your schedule is up to you! Most volunteers serve between 1 to 4 hours per week!
