Most of our Clubs serve kids in low performing schools or schools that are on the decline in respect to state levels. Our goal is to achieve academic success in each child that comes to the Club daily. The person that walks away from a Boys & Girls Club program should be a well-rounded person and a walking testament to what a successful program has to offer. Our kids learn the value of self and others through a variety of character development programs such as Keystone & Torch Clubs, Youth for Unity, and Service Learning. They establish relationships with caring, capable adults, and they know that the Club is a safe place to just be themselves. Club members experience the healthy and correct way to eat and exercise daily. Programs like Triple Play and Presidential Fitness are top on our list of strongly encouraged activities. Louisiana is one of the most obese states in the U.S. and we have to do our part to keep our kids healthy and active. These programs help teach kids why it is important to make good decisions when it comes to eating right and living healthy. Great sponsors help to make these programs success. Club members are getting out, getting active and feeling better about themselves.
