Description

We conceived Faena Art as an interdisciplinary nonprofit that serves as both a catalyst and a platform. We want artists to create and experiment with new cultural practices. We hope to serve as intermediaries in the conversation between north and south that evolves across disciplines and national boundaries, illuminating the shared meridian of culture that spans the Americas. For the past five years, Faena Art has worked toward the enrichment of the cultural life of Buenos Aires, providing a platform for site-specific, immersive, and experimental commissions. We seek to bridge the local and the global, the popular and experimental, and to provide a nexus for the creation of new social practices. We are honored to initiate a new season here in Miami Beach, a location that expresses our ongoing commitment to polyphonic cultural expressions and inventing new modes and methods of community building. We have created a program of international resonance that responds to Miami’s specific landscape, with a particular focus on time-based experiments. Our goal is to create new contexts for social interaction, where time itself is on display, spiritual turbulence is generated, and place is constantly redefined by movement. Welcome to this new season of Faena Art-and welcome to Miami Beach.
