Description
The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center is a combination history museum and contemporary art gallery. Our rotating exhibit of contemporary art highlights African American arists as well as artwork that speaks to the African American experience. Our permanent history exhibit, entitled "Pride Overcomes Prejudice," tells the story of the Jefferson School, the community it served, and the continuous attempt by African Americans to acquire agency through education.
