I started volunteering primarily in the gardens in April 2019. I assist two mornings a week, and year round as much as the weather permits. I receive instructions upon arrival, and usually I'm working with other volunteers and/or employees. Tasks vary but include clearing ground, weeding, planting, deadheading, mulching, pruning, potting up and more. Staff is warm, friendly and soooo very appreciative of everything I and my fellow volunteers do to assist their efforts at providing a beautiful, got-to-tell-all-my-friends-about-this soul renewing experience!! I've gained so much knowledge and a ton of gardening confidence. I've enjoyed every single morning spent there and I'm looking forward to the next. Gardening tools are provided or you can bring your own. I encourage anyone who enjoys gardening to give this opportunity a try!! I can promise you'll have no regrets! Currently volunteers assist Wed and/or Fri mornings.
