Mission:

Direction for Youth is dedicated to boys and girls 7 to 18 years old in the Metropolitan Atlanta area. Our focus is to create a healthy transitions from childhood to adulthood with programs and resources designed to empower, educate, inspire, and encourage positive growth.

Description

Direction for Youth Inc, was founded in 2006, by business leader and community advocate Shanta Phelps. We provide opportunities for youth to broaden their perceptions on what life has to offer by motivating them to stay in school, resist negative peer pressure, avoid teen parenthood, drug/alcohol-related violence and other limiting behavior. The focus of Direction For Youth, Inc. (DFY) is mentoring, intervention programs that serves underprivileged youth in high-risk environment, assisting them in becoming productive, self-sustaining, responsible members of society. Since its inception, DFY has provided youth with important opportunities to engage in the community’s civic activities and to give them a way to channel their intellect and ambition in a productive manner. DFY's programs is the realization that education, community, and building character are crucial to the success of both the child and society.

Direction For Youth is a great organization for kids. The next fundraiser they will have is working at Turner Field. If you want to make a difference in the lives of today's youth, this is definitely the company you want.
