Mission Statement

Virginia Cooperative Extension leads the engagement mission of Virginia Tech and Virginia State University, the Commonwealth’s land-grant universities. Building local relationships and collaborative partnerships, we help people put scientific knowledge to work through learning experiences that improve economic, environmental, and social well-being.

Description

Extension is a joint program of Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and state and local governments. Our diverse educational programming is rooted in the current needs of the communities we serve. By addressing those needs, Virginia Cooperative Extension strengthens and supports schools, organizations, businesses, and farms; increasing the long-term health and well-being our community, from youth to senior citizens.
