Meals on Wheels of Syracuse was founded on May 20, 1959. It is the 3rd program of its kind organized in the United States. Its purpose is to organize, plan and administer the service of delivering well-balanced and nutritious meals to homebound participants. Our service area includes various parts of Syracuse, Nedrow, the Onondaga Reservation and Jordan/ Elbridge. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM- 4:00PM. Meals on Wheels of Syracuse is a not-for-profit, volunteer based organization.
Mission Statement
The Purpose of Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, NY, Inc. is to organize, plan, and administer the service of delivering well-balanced, nutritious meals at the lowest possible cost to the recipient.
These meals will be provided for those clients who are unable to plan, shop or prepare such meals due to illness, disability or advanced age.
