Mission Statement

Assistance League of Pomona Valley is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives and well being of children and families in our communities.

Description

Assistance League of Pomona Valley is a chapter of the National Assistance League. We are an all volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families throughout the Pomona Valley area.

Each year we hold several fundraising events including a Tea Party and Golf Tournament in order to raise vitally needed funds for our philanthropic programs. We operate a dental clinic that offers free dental care to children, adults and seniors, and we provide new school clothing to children through our Operation School Bell program. We also provide books through our literacy program and family care kits that include household items.

We are always open to new members and volunteers. If you are interested in learning more please contact us at membership@ALPV.org.

I love the hands-on experience of assisting children and their parents select new clothing for school. The miles of smiles on their faces makes my life more purposeful. The members are very passionate about the community and there are many different skillsets among them. The newest outreach is for free dental services for low income adults/seniors whose needs have been unmet in this community for years. I love how the Assistance League identified the need and is now filling the gap. This group remains true to their goals even during the pandemic.

This is a wonderful group of big-hearted people who are dedicated to serving our community! It's a great opportunity to give back in a meaningful way, and there are numerous ways to be involved. There are monthly meetings (currently on Zoom due to COVID), school clothing distribution days, office duties at our dental center, event planning committees as well Board of Directors roles. If you have extra time and/or any special skills/talents, I encourage you to check out this organization!
