The Sonoma County Museum celebrates and interprets the region's rich history, art, and culture by exhibiting and collecting relevant objects and artworks, by serving as a vital community gathering place, and by inspiring visitors with dynamic experiences that engage, educate, and enlighten.

Description

The vision of the museum is to advance the appreciation of history, art and culture in the region by inviting a dialogue among artists, scholars, and diverse community members. We will link the natural environment with human activities to provide a sense of place. We will be a leader in presenting the contemporary integration of history with contemporary art, each deeply reflective of culture in Sonoma County.
