I got in touch with them and was told I needed to attend a training before volunteering (I think it was a 6-hour training - mostly signing papers) We filled out papers with what we were and were not interested in. I wanted to be a home companion, and specifically wrote that I did not want to drive seniors because I was concerned about them possibly getting hurt getting into and out of the car. So the first (and only) job that they called me for: to drive a woman to her dr appointment. I did it anyway and it went well. After that I didn't receive any more calls. I even reached out to them several times and told them to please get in touch if they needed volunteers for anything and I didn't hear back unless it was for something I told them previously that I was uncomfortable doing. This was about 6 years ago, and I still get a holiday card from them and an invitation to the volunteer dinner (I dont attend), even though I haven't gotten a call from them in years about volunteering.
