The mission of the Residency is to transform the way local teachers are recruited, prepared, and supported in their communities by providing rigorous coursework; intensive preservice induction; a year-long clinical experience with a master teacher that integrates practice and theory; a master of arts in education; and ongoing, meaningful professional development and alumni mentorship.

Description

The WT³ Residency maximizes the impact of well-prepared teachers in Ector County ISD classrooms by transforming and inspiring pre-service and professional educators through collaboration between UTPB and ECISD, innovation in the teacher-preparation process, and commitment to improving student learning outcomes.Residencies can strengthen the educational community across the lifespan through meaningful collaboration and intentional, research-based programming between public, private, and non-profit institutions, from pre-kindergarten to college completion.
