Mission Statement

The Illinois Tech Global Leaders Program is a free, two year academic enrichment program for Chicago-area high school students. Our program inspires high-achieving youth from across the city to LEAD AND SERVE through STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and supports their path to HIGHER EDUCATION.

Description

Over the course of two years, GLP Scholars participate in:

  • Four weeks of collaborative, project-based STEM programming eachsummer.
  • The implementation of a Community Innovation Project of their own design during their junioryear.
  • Step-by-step college advising and guidance during their senioryear.
  • Workshops, field trips, and more career development opportunities throughout.

Each element of the program provides students with increasing agency and responsibility, such that Scholars leave the program with the ability to pursue higher education as critical thinkers and leaders in STEM. Our approach is student-centered, and creates authentic learning experiences.
