Mission Statement

Our mission is to stabilize and empower families to obtain self-sufficiency and achieve their full economic potential.

Description

LCSA is a pioneer in the Valley, offering critical social services in the community since 1974. The agency humbly began with one staff member, and one social service program. Over the past 4 decades LCSA diversified their social service portfolio offering an array of essential services for the most vulnerable and dependent residents of our community. Our programs include 95 units of transitional and affordable housing, construction/rehabilitation services that assist low income homeowners living with health or safety issues, an innovative transportation program (SHIFT) offering opportunities for homeless families and individuals access to their own vehicle, a onetime emergency relief program to prevent/divert households from losing housing or utilities, and Youth Build, a collaborative program which offers at-risk youth a second chance at success by learning a trade skill through hands on building projects with experienced construction workers.

LCSA employs highly qualified case managers, housing counselors, and project coordinators who deliver exceptional levels of service to families experiencing homelessness and/or economic crisis. Collectively these programs offer families and individuals assistance when they are in the most challenging of circumstances. They stabilize families in crisis and provide a path back to self-sufficiency, increasing confidence, economic independence and financial stability. Throughout FY 2014-15 LCSA's programs collectively assisted more than 1,850 households impacting approximately 4,700 individuals Valley wide.
