Mission Statement

NSO is dedicated to transforming lives and encouraging independence through safe, healthy homes, dental care and nutrition.

Description

NSO’s programs include transitional housing for those who need help gaining independence, permanent supportive housing for adults with a mental illness, a rental assistance program and low-cost clinics for those in need. NSO has a 95-year tradition of challenging the preconceived notions of poverty and offering help to those who need it most.

Transitional Housing
Martha’s House provides temporary, supportive housing to homeless families. It is a seven-unit apartment complex where residents have access to core lifeskills classes that teach them to become independent.
Gatewood is a transitional living program for single mothers who are pregnant or have a child under the age of five. It offers them a stable environment in which to raise newborns and small children.
The Carolyn Williams Center is a temporary home for young men over the age of 18 who have aged out of foster care or are living on the streets. They gain a safe living environment and learn basic life skills to prepare them for life on their own.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Palo Duro I & II are permanent supportive living centers for adults with a mental illness. They are located within walking distance of mental health service providers so our clients have easy access to treatment.

This organization helped my son, they went way beyond the scope of what they do to help him. I cannot say enough good about this organization. Tracy Long of the Carolyn Williams Center is awesome.
