Position Title: President/CEO Non-Profit Pro bono Opportunity | Remote | Flexible Schedule Department / Reports To: Board of Directors Collaboration: Executive Leadership, Administrative Departments, Project Leaders, Board Members Position Summary: Chemists Without Borders is seeking an experienced Executive President/CEO to join our global network of scientists and enthusiastic teams of committed individuals. As a President, the executive will be expected to develop a growth strategy, provide operational management support, strengthen team coordination and empowerment, and make a difference with impact-based leadership. This role is one of the most senior positions in the organization and would report to and participate with the Board of Directors. Roles and Responsibilities: Perform general management duties to ensure that the organization makes consistent and timely progress in achieving its mission. Provide inclusive, transparent, and empowering executive leadership to support the organization’s mission as defined by the Bylaws and Board of Directors Attend Board meetings (in person or online, depending on location) Establish goals, objectives, and strategic and operational plans in collaboration with the Board of Directors, executive teams, volunteers, and project leaders. Manage people and operations, while also having oversight of finances, budgeting, fundraising, and project proposals Organize, motivate, and mentor internal team leaders. Drive organizational change and willingness to get things done. Reevaluate, rebuild programs/functions and partner in successful change management. Execute an annual development plan with agreed fundraising and membership goals through a multi-level/faceted development approach to revenue generation. Formulate a comprehensive, long-term strategy for expanding membership and ensuring the financial stability of the organization. What we look for in the applicants: Progressive years of Leadership and Senior Management experience; successful P&L management; President /CEO/COO experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to increase commitment, purpose-driven teams and successful projects through leadership and empowerment. Desire to make a difference and participate at all levels, engaging and empowering teams and leading the organization effectively. Proven experience, ability, and willingness to lead a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) with a focus on core values, Purpose, and Sustainable impact. Entrepreneurial/Independent thinker with an appetite to take on a high level of responsibility. Proven ability and desire to manage all aspects of a NPO. Knowledge and understanding of global environmental challenges. Proven experience in fundraising and working with donors. Position Title: Website Administrator Non-Profit Pro bono Opportunity | Remote | Flexible Schedule | 10-15 hours per month. Department / Reports To: Dr. Sayanti Basu, VP, Operations Collaboration: Administrative Departments, Project Leaders, Executive Leadership Team About Chemists Without Borders: We are a small non-profit, all volunteer organization, focused on solving humanitarian problems through the application of chemistry and other sciences. We are committed to increasing people’s access to clean water, improving educational opportunities, and increasing capacity within communities worldwide. Position Summary: We are seeking a Website Administrator to join our global network of scientists and enthusiastic teams of committed individuals. As a Website Administrator, the individual will be expected to support the maintenance and upkeep of website. This is a critical IT role within the organization. Roles and Responsibilities: Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization's website. Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues. Collaborate with external vendors for website projects and troubleshooting. Identifying and responding to all website security breaches. Ensuring that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures. Updating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript regularly. Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information. Creating/posting appropriate website content aligned with the organization’s strategy. Administer user accounts, roles, and permissions. Ensuring website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans. Collaborating to ensure website aligns with brand strategy and organization’s standards. Ensuring full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations. Keeping up to date with industry best practices and monitoring competitor websites. Keeping the website’s domain and hosting registration current What we look for in the applicants: A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification. 2 years of work experience as a website manager. Knowledge of Adobe suite, Content Management Systems, and W3C Web standards. Proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), and JavaScript. Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and WordPress. Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment. Analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
