SIFF is a constantly evolving, year-round film organization that brings Seattle the best in international and independent film along with exciting programs featuring innovative actors and filmmakers. At SIFF, we pride ourselves in offering audiences the opportunity to discover original stories, explore diverse cultures, and take new emotional journeys.
Now in our 34th year, SIFF has been called one of the best "audience festivals" in the world. SIFF is also one of the largest and most attended film festivals in North America, with more than 250 feature/documentary films and 100 short films shown every year to audiences of more than 160,000. Seattleites see more movies per capita than any other city in the nation, and this love for film makes us one of the hottest markets for new films to be seen, tested, and celebrated.
Our principle objective is to promote film as a medium that fosters cross-cultural communication, education, and international understanding. Film is perhaps one of the only contemporary art forms that can advance these goals in such an enduring, immediate and powerful form.
