Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC) is an accredited center with a mission to change the lives of individuals with disabilities by promoting physical, psychological and social well-being through equine assisted services. Lesson volunteers at CTRC have the opportunity to participate as either horse leaders or side walkers in weekly therapeutic riding lessons. Horse leaders are responsible for grooming, tacking, and leading the horses, while the side walker is responsible for the rider and their safety throughout the lesson. Volunteers work with the same rider at the same time each week during our seasonal sessions, which range from 6 to 14 weeks. Volunteers may help with mucking, turn-in/turn-out, or other volunteer opportunities. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the power horses have to help humans. And of course, it is a lot of fun too!! New volunteers must attend an in-person New Volunteer Training. Additional Horse Handling Training is also available. We accept volunteers with no horse experience to years of experience. Please contact the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@ctrcinc.org and/or visit www.ctrcinc.org for more details.

Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center is looking for a special person to help us with our Social Media. This includes generating content ideas, collecting (photo and video), and creating content, helping create content calendars and campaigns, analyzing metrics, and more. If you love the socials and want to be a part of a life-changing organization, and spend time around horses and amazing people, then shoot us an inquiry! Please be advised that our capacity to engage with remote volunteers is restricted to individuals possessing substantial experience in social media management at an organizational level. However, if you are relatively inexperienced in managing social media for organizations but proficient in content creation and platform utilization, we are open to collaboration provided you are local. Through our experience, we have determined that the efficacy of working with remote volunteers who are new to social media management is limited, thereby necessitating local involvement for optimal outcomes both for the volunteer and our organization.
