Help a local hospice serve our veteran patients on a real and personal level. We, at Gentiva Hospice, do our very best to honor our veterans. Be a part of that by volunteering your time with us. No matter what your talents or interests, you can make a difference in someone’s life by making Veteran-to-Veteran visits to patients and providing companionship and support through conversation, leisure activities or by being a supportive presence. You may also provide respite for caregivers so they can have some time away for themselves. When you volunteer with us, you become part of a team of skilled, compassionate people who dedicate their time to a truly noble cause. We are currently a level 4 participant with "We Honor Veterans" and are actively working to step up to level 5 and beyond. Please contact our local office to get started.

Make gifts from the heart. Volunteer today to help patients and their families when they need help the most. Handmade gifts give people a warm, loving feeling. Please join us and share that feeling. DONATE YOUR GIFTS - Make items such as birthday cards, lap blankets, pillows, dinning scarves, ect... and donate them to us. We will deliver them to our patients and make their day a lot brighter. MAKE ITEMS WHILE YOU VISIT SOMONE SPECIAL - Get to know someone and make items just for them. It will leave a mark with that person and their family that lasts and lasts. Bring your professional skills to patients and help provide comfort and dignity to them and their families. For a person who cannot leave their home, getting their hair done is something that can seem completely out of reach. Join our team and help us make these things possible. Having a personal concert in your home or at your bedside would absolutely brighten your day, bring comfort and make you feel special. Would you like to be someone who brings these feelings to those who are at the end of their life? Gentiva Hospice provides care for our patients wherever they call home. We serve patients and families from Reno to Gardnerville and everywhere in between. Full training and ongoing support are provided. Our volunteers take a hands off, heart in approach, meaning, no hands on care is provided but the heart and spirit are most definitely touched.
