If so, we can work together! Our hospice patients and families would love your visits and volunteering with us will satisfy the degree program requirement! In addition to fulfilling this component of your degree program you would gain valuable experience in the field and make connections with employers in the industry. It's a win-win-win! Enhabit Hospice of Austin seeks volunteers in Central and South Austin, Westlake Hills, Bee Cave, Kyle, Buda, and San Marcos. We have opportunities for students to provide companionship to our patients who are receiving hospice care for a life limiting illness or for those who would like to assist with clerical work in our office. We are looking for an individual to help our office staff prepare mailings, maintain patient records, filing, stocking supplies, faxing, answering phones, special projects and assist with computer work. Come in during the day and work in our office and help us MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Excellent experience for future employment and references available. Volunteer will need to come in for 1 day of orientation and training.

We care for our patients in the place they call home - private residence, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, or other inpatient setting. Just a few hours a week can make a lasting impact on the lives of others. Volunteer Opportunities: Direct Patient Care - Sitting with patients, reading, working puzzles, watching tv and movies, life review. Provide Caregiver Respite while caregiver runs errands, takes time for themselves or goes to appointments. Office - Assistance includes: filing, assembly notebooks, copying, data entry. Bereavement - Assisting our Chaplain with mailings and administrative duties. Computer skills preferred. Training provided.
