Mission Statement

The NJ Tree Foundation is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to planting trees in NJ's most urban areas, where the need is the greatest. Our two largest volunteer programs plant trees in Camden and Newark, NJ.

Since our inception in 1998, the Tree Foundation has planted over 200,000 trees across the state of NJ.

Description

The NJ Tree Foundation is dedicated to planting the right tree in the right place throughout urban communities of NJ. In Camden and Newark, volunteer events are held in the spring and fall, on Saturdays or on weekdays from 9am-12pm. The spring planting schedule is posted online at www.njtreefoundation.org/volunteer by March 1st, and the fall schedule is posted by August 15th.

Volunteer events are fun for people of all ages! Tasks include digging holes, planting tall trees, back-filling, and laying mulch. Tools, training, and gloves are provided by NJ Tree Foundation staff at all planting events.

Please visit www.njtreefoundation.org/volunteer for more information or to sign up as a volunteer. For questions about volunteering:
